IFA 2011: Vodafone präsentiert Smart Tab 7 und 10

Bereits am letzten Donnerstag hat Vodafone via Pressemitteilung zwei eigene Honeycomb-Tablets angekündigt, die sogar mit der großen Konkurrenz aus Sicht der Hardware mithalten können. Dies wollten wir natürlich direkt auf der IFA überprüfen und machten uns auf in die Vodafone-Halle.

Doch was der Netzbetreiber leider nicht schaffte war, die beiden angekündigten Tablets auch auszustellen. In meinen Augen eine riesen Enttäuschung, warum man eine derartige Bühne nicht nutzt, zudem macht es einen ziemlich unprofessionellen Eindruck.

[aartikel]B0056XVC12:right[/aartikel]So bleibt mir aber erstmal nichts anders übrig, als die nackten Fakten aufzuzählen. Beide Tablets werden von einem 1,2GHz Dual-Core-Qualcomm-Prozessor und 1GB RAM Arbeitsspeicher angetrieben. Der Datenspeicher ist 16GB groß und kann via microSD um bis zu 32GB erweitert. In beiden Tablets wird ein UMTS-Modul verbaut sein, welches mit HSPA+ funkt und damit bis zu 14,4Mbps im Downstream bietet. Auch zu finden sind zwei Kameras mit jeweils 5 und 2 Megapixel.

Nur zum Smart Tab 7 gibt man auch das Gewicht mit 391 Gramm und die Tiefe mit 11,4 Millimeter an, diese Daten lässt man zum 10 Zöller weg und scheint da selbst nicht ganz mit Gewicht und Tiefe zufrieden zu sein.

Beide Geräte sollen pünktlich zum Weihnachtsgeschäft zu haben sein.

Vodafone’s first tablets premiere at the IFA show Berlin

Düsseldorf/Berlin, 1 September 2011. VodafoneGermany is launching two Vodafone-branded tablets at the 2011 IFA consumer electronics fair in Berlin. TheVodafone Smart Tab will be available in a 7 and 10 inch version. The device will be rolled out in the autumn.

Both tablets come with Google Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) installed. A Qualcomm 1.2 GHz dual-core processor offering 1 GB of RAM guarantees all-round fast performance. 16 GB internal memory provides plenty of space to store photos, videos and documents, and it can be expanded to 32 GB with a MicroSD card.

Vodafone Germany’s HSDPA turbo mobile broadbandservice can download websites and data via the efficientVodafone network at rates of up to 14.4 mbps, with a maximum upload speed of 5.76 mbps. The tablets also have an integrated WLAN interface.

The Vodafone Smart Tab 7 weighs 391 grams, is 11.4 millimetres slim and fits in almost any jacket pocket. TheVodafone Smart Tab 10’s 10 inch display provides even more space for multimedia applications. Both tablets are additionally equipped with 5 megapixel cameras on the back and 2 megapixel cameras on the front. Their displays both have 1280 x 800 pixel resolutions. TheVodafone Smart Tabs are scheduled to go on sale at retail outlets in Germany at the end of November. Pricing will be announced closer to the time.
