Google stellt originales Pixelbook ein, neue Updates gibt es aber weiterhin – kommt ein neues Modell?

Google beendet den Verkauf das originalen Pixelbook, doch Systemupdates gibt es noch für einen relativ langen Zeitraum weiterhin. Kommt das Pixelbook 2?

Stellt Google pünktlich für das nächste Pixelbook das originale Modell ein? Zumindest könnte man den Eindruck gewinnen. Bestätigt scheint auf jeden Fall das Ende des ersten Pixelbooks, hierzu gab Google inzwischen ein Statement ab. Dabei verrät der Konzern, dass es weiterhin Updates gibt. Denn eine Garantie auf automatische Systemupdates hat das Pixelbook sogar noch bis zum Juni 2024. Folgt trotzdem ein Nachfolger schon bald?

„We are proud of the success of Pixelbook, which will continue to receive the latest versions of Chrome OS per our auto-update guidelines. While Pixelbook is out of stock on the Google Store, Pixelbook Go, which delivers similar high-performance elements in a familiar form factor, is available starting at $649.“

Es gab zuletzt auf jeden Fall erste Anzeichen, Google hat bislang aber nicht offiziell geäußert. Auf einer neuen Sonderseite zum Event in der kommenden Woche war von Pixelbooks nämlich keine Rede, auch sonst fehlen Leaks oder andere neue Hinweise. Google sprach allerdings von einem erfolgreichen Pixelbook, das mit dem Pixelbook Go zumindest einen indirekten Nachfolger längst am Start hat.

Aktuell würde ich nicht mit einem neuen Pixelbook rechnen. Und selbst wenn, dann ist es für deutsche Kunden wieder nicht interessant. Bislang hatte Google keines dieser Geräte in Europa bzw. Deutschland angeboten.

  1. Also kann gerne kommen. Sollte halt auch mal nach Deutschland kommen wenn möglich. Der Markt von Chromebooks in Deutschland ist halt sehr „begrenzt“ bzw. man hat keine premium Geräte außer das C436 von ASUS.
