Obwohl sich das Nokia 8 und Nokia 8 Sirocco kaum unterscheiden, gibt es bei der installierten Software eben doch einen größeren Unterschied. Das erste Nokia 8 hatte nämlich kein Android One installiert, deshalb fehlen diverse Funktionen von Android 9 Pie. Dazu gehört zum Beispiel das „Digital Wellbeing“, das von Google exklusiv für die Pixel-Smartphones und eben nur für Android One bereitgestellt wird.
Android One ist nicht nur ein Update-Versprechen
Man merkt an dieser Stelle also mal wieder, dass Android One diverse Unterschiede zu einem normalen Stock-Android mitbringt – nicht nur das Versprechen auf neue Updates. Google will mit Exklusivität auch Begehrlichkeiten wecken. Lediglich die adaptive Batterie, also die verbesserte Akkuverwaltung soll demnächst noch auf dem Nokia 8 landen.
Since Nokia 8 is not an Android One smartphone, Google didn’t make features like Digital Wellbeing and Apps actions available in the Android Pie OS build meant for it. But HMD team is closely working with Google to still make it possible though their availability in future can’t be confirmed at this stage.
Adaptive Battery however will come in future builds and may take few weeks of testing and fine tuning to work perfectly with Nokia 8. Nokia 8 owners can expect this feature to finally land on their devices in January/February depending upon how much time it takes to make it issue-free. (via NPU)
